Men's Golf Holding Steady in Mexico

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico - The UNT men's golf continued play at the Vaqueros Intercollegiate on Monday and held steady with a 2-over 290 to enter Tuesday's final round alone in third place on the leaderboard.Â
UNT was once again led freshman Alex Huang, who is tied for sixth at 2-under par going to the final round after his second straight 1-under 71. While Huang is atop the leaderboard among UNT golfers, the Mean Green's hot hand on the day came in the form of senior Dawson Meek. He fired a 5-under 67, which was good for the second-best day in the field and it moved him up 38 spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 10th place.
The Mean Green are 14 shots back of co-leaders UTEP and No. 16 SMU and are seven shots clear of fourth-place UTSAÂ going into the final round on Tuesday.
