DENTON, Texas — The UNT women's basketball team will close out the regular season at Rice Tuesday at 7 p.m. CT in Tudor Fieldhouse.
The Mean Green have won six straight entering the game, marking their longest win streak of the season. Saturday's win over UAB was the team's 22nd win of the season, which is the second most in program history only trailing last season's record of 23.
North Texas has a chance to clinch the second seed in the upcoming AAC Championships with a win over the Owls.
Tuesday's game will be the second meeting of the season for the Mean Green and Owls after UNT won 61-53 in Denton on Jan. 15. Tommisha Lampkin led all players with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Jaaucklyn Moore added 15 points and a career-high five blocks.
Rice sits at 14-15 on the season and 7-10 in conference play following an 83-63 loss at Temple on Feb. 28. The Owls are led by Malia Fisher and Dominique Ennis, who both average over 12 points per game. Of note, Ennis did not play in the first matchup this season.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and can be heard on the Varsity Network App with Zac Babb on the call.
