The Mean Green posted five-inning victory with 16 hits to clinch conference series win
TULSA, Okla. – UNT softball secured an American Athletic Conference series victory after a 13-4 win over Tulsa in five innings Sunday afternoon. The win positions the Mean Green in sole possession of third place in the conference after four weekends of league play.
North Texas (24-12, 7-5) collected a season high 16 hits as five players posted multiple base knocks against the Golden Hurricane (18-18, 6-6) led by three-hit performances from Kailyn Bearpaw and Elizabeth Moffitt. The Mean Green's hit total ties for the sixth-best mark in program history and is the most since March 20, 2021.
For the weekend, UNT tallied a .442 batting average on 42 hits, 34 runs and 31 RBI with a .523 on-base percentage and .716 slugging percentage. Bearpaw finished the series 7-for-10 with three extra-base hits, including two home runs, five runs scored and five RBI against her former team.
In addition to her three-hit game, Moffitt led the Mean Green with three RBI and set a new career high of three runs scored. Madison Conley matched Moffit's RBI total with a three-run home run in the first inning.
Emma Grahmann continued her torrid week as she scored two runs and reached base in two of her three plate appearances with one double and one walk. For the week, Grahmann has reached base in 12 of 14 plate appearances with a .750 batting average, seven runs, three RBI, and two stolen bases.
Skylar Savage (W, 11-5) threw her seventh complete game of the season as she held the Golden Hurricane to one run on three hits over her first four innings of work and added a strikeout to her final line in the fifth.
