ABILENE, Texas – Mean Green softball closes a five-game road trip against Abilene Christian at Poly Wells Field Tuesday at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
UNT (24-12, 7-5 AAC) won the final two games of its conference series over Tulsa as it scored 34 runs on 42 hits with a .442 batting average over the three-game set. The scoring output against the Golden Hurricane marked the second-highest run total for a conference series in program history, trailing only the 35 runs scored versus UTEP in May 2015.
North Texas holds a seven-game winning streak versus the Wildcats (9-36, 5-7 WAC) dating back to Feb. 15, 2020, as head coach Rodney DeLong owns a 7-1 mark in seven seasons at UNT.
ACU enters the week after it salvaged a 9-8 win in the league series finale versus Utah Tech Saturday as pinch hitter Catrin Hoffman hit a walk-off single in the seventh inning. UNT leads the all-time series 9-3 with two of its three losses coming in Abilene on April 19, 2017, and March 26, 2019.
The Mean Green collected a 7-1 home win over the Wildcats on March 12, 2024, as Cierra Simon finished 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run and a stolen base.
