Softball Set for American Championship, Play Thursday

TAMPA, Fla. – UNT softball earned the No. 4 seed at the American Athletic Conference Championship held at USF Softball Stadium.
The Mean Green (34-20, 16-11) received a bye to the quarterfinals of the league's single-elimination tournament where it will meet No. 5 Wichita State, No. 8 Tulsa or No. 9 UTSA on Thursday at 11 a.m. CT on ESPN+.
North Texas closed its regular season schedule with a pair of losses at East Carolina on Saturday. Earlier this season, UNT captured series wins over Tulsa and UTSA while it dropped a road series against the Shockers.
In 2024, the Mean Green won two games at The American Championship over Memphis and ECU to advance to the semifinals in its inaugural season in the league. North Texas holds a 4-1 record in quarterfinal conference championship games under head coach Rodney DeLong.
