DENTON, Texas – The UNT women's basketball team visits Temple Saturday afternoon in the first of back-to-back games away from home.
North Texas (12-10, 6-4 American) is looking to make it two straight wins after handling Florida Atlantic last weekend in Denton, 67-49. The Mean Green have performed well outside the Super Pit, winning six of their last eight road conference games and going 15-8 in such instances under head coach Jason Burton.
Megan Nestor has continued her run as one of the country's most dominant inside forces, tallying 10 points and 24 rebounds in the win over FAU. She now leads the NCAA in nearly every major rebounding category, including total rebounds (13.8) and offensive rebounds (5.6) per game, and is the American's only player averaging a double double for the season. Additionally, Nestor is the country's lone player to have accumulated either nine 15-rebound games or four 20-rebound games this year.
Through 10 conference games, Aysia Proctor ranks seventh in the American with 14.7 points per game and is sinking an impressive 44.4% of her three-point attempts. She also enters Saturday as one of the conference's four players averaging 12+ PPG while shooting at least 38% from behind the arc on the year.
North Texas has beaten Temple in each of the two previous matchups between the programs. The Mean Green pulled out a tight 70-67 win over the Owls last season, while their victory in 2024 started a seven-game win streak through league play.
The game is slated for a 1:00 p.m. CT tip-off at the Liacouras Center and will be available for streaming on ESPN+. Sam Kaman will also provide radio coverage through the Varsity Network App.
