Gwyn spent the past six seasons as head softball coach at Keller High School in Keller,  Texas. She joins the Mean Green after leading Keller to the 2023 UIL Texas 6A Region finals. The deep playoff run marked the third occasion she led Keller to the region title game — the 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2019 she led Keller to a top 15 national ranking and the state semifinals.
In six seasons as Keller’s head coach, Gwyn won 155 games. They won 30 or more games on three occasions, including 35 in 2023. Keller finished with an undefeated 14-0 record in district play, which marked the second time in her tenure the Indians were undefeated in district.
In her playing career, Gwyn was a highly-decorated pitcher at BYU and Texas. She ranked inside the top 10 for every career and single-season pitching category at BYU when she graduated in 2008. She recorded the program’s first no-hitter in her senior season and led the Cougars to back-to-back NCAA Regional appearances.
Prior to her BYU career, Gwyn played for Texas where she earned first team academic honors from CoSIDA and the Big 12 in 2005. She tallied 42 appearances in 2004 which is tied for ninth in single-season program history. The same season, Gwyn paced the Longhorns with 176.2 innings pitched, nine complete games and 105 strikeouts. Her brother, Jason, was a graduate assistant while she was in Austin.
Gwyn graduated from Keller High School where she won the school’s first state championship in 2003. She was named the 5A state tournament most valuable player. She earned first-team Academic All-American honors and was a three-time District MVP. In 2013, she was inducted into the Keller High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Prior to coaching at her alma mater, Gwyn also served as head coach at Little Elm High School and assistant coach at McKinney Boyd High School.
