Wilcox Cards Career-Best Finish In Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The North Texas men's golf team wrapped up its final tournament of the fall season on Tuesday, playing to a seventh-place finish at the Little Rock Invitational with a score of 11-over par, and the Mean Green were led by senior Sean Wilcox, who finished a career-best tied for sixth at 2-under par after carding a career-best finish in their last event at the Trinity Forest Invitational when he tied for 10th.
Wilcox shot a 74-68-72 to tie with three other golfers for sixth place after tying for third in the field in Par-5 scoring and tying for fourth in Par-4 scoring.
"Sean had another career-best finish," UNT head coach Brad Stracke said. "He showed a lot of mental toughness after starting with three consecutive bogeys and finished at even-par today."
Sophomores Tucker Allen and Vicente Marzilio tied for 36th at 4-over par to go toward the team score, while sophomore Nikhil Gopal tied for 23rd at 3-over par while competing as an individual.
The Mean Green will take the winter off before returning to competition Feb. 21-23 at The Prestige in La Quinta, California.
