Defending champs open fall Wednesday in OKC

Fall ball schedule features matchups with two 2020 ranked squads
DENTON, Texas — North Texas Softball opens its six-game fall ball slate at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in Bethany, Okla. against Southern Nazarene University. The exhibition schedule features matchups with Oklahoma State and defending NCAA champion Oklahoma.
The Mean Green's first home game comes on Friday against Seminole State at Guyer High School in Denton. The Raiders are coming off an NJCAA Region 2 championship as well as a No. 6 finish in the final poll of the season.Â
The defending Conference USA champs then head on the road to Stillwater, Okla. for a matchup with the Cowboys before home games against Grayson County College and Weatherford College. The fall season concludes with a trip to Norman, Okla. to face off with the Sooners.
UNT returns First Team All-Conference pitcher Janie Worthington to the circle as well as Second-Teamers Ashlyn Walker (C) and Kailey Gamble (INF) and All-Freshman recipient Maia Wark (OF).Â
The Mean Green finished 2021 with a 38-12 record and an 18-2 record in conference play on their way to the first conference championship in program history.
