DENTON – North Texas softball pitching coach Jamie Allred has been named to the McNeese Sports Hall of Fame class of 2022, the university announced on Friday.
She will be inducted along with four former McNeese student-athletes including a fellow Cowgirls softball alumna and three football players. The class was chosen by the McNeese Sports Hall of Fame Committee and will be honored at halftime of the McNeese men's basketball game versus Nicholls in Lake Charles, Louisiana on Jan. 21.
"I am honored to be a part of such an illustrious group," Allred said. "I will always be thankful for McNeese and the Lake Charles community."
Allred is a three-time All-Southland Conference selection, including winning SLC pitcher of the year and all-region honors in 2014. She led her team to three conference championships with a Southland tournament victory and subsequent NCAA regionals appearance in 2016. Posting a 68-26 record in four seasons with the Cowgirls, she holds the program record for career wins.
She also ranks in the top five in McNeese history with career marks of 20 shutouts, a 2.02 ERA, 529 strikeouts and 614.1 innings pitched.
