Marzilio Ties For Third At Coral Creek Invite

PLACIDA, Fla. - Sophomore Vicente Marzilio shot a final-round 2-over 73 and finished tied for third on Tuesday at the Coral Creek Club Invitational in a field that featured six top-100 players and five ranked in the top-50.

Marzilio's three-round total of 68-67-73-208 meant he finished ahead of all but one of those players, and that one, No. 31 Nick Grabrelcik of North Florida, tied Marzilio. Marzilio and three others finished at 5-under par for the tournament - three shots behind the champion, South Alabama's Mathias Lorentzen.

The Mean Green finished the event in 14th at 27-over par.

Marzilio finished tied for third in the field in Par 3 scoring, tied for second in Par 4 scoring, tied for fifth in total birdies (10) and tied for third in total pars (39).

North Texas will return to action on March 14-15, at the Louisiana Classics in Lafayette, Louisiana.
