The North Texas men's golf team gets back to competition with a return trip to The Hayt at Sawgrass Country Club.Â

THE EVENT: Sawgrass Country Club will play at 6,966, and will be a par-72 course for the tournament. The two-day event begins Sunday and will conclude on Monday, with tee times each day beginning at 6:45 a.m.Â

THE FIELD: There are 15 teams participating in the tournament: Arkansas State, Central Florida, No. 39 Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, No. 45 Georgia Southern, Jacksonville, No. 43 Liberty, No. 37 Louisville, No. 25 LSU, Navy, No. 38 North Florida, North Texas, No. 19 Tennessee and No. 40 UAB.

REPRESENTING UNT: Competing for the Mean Green will be Vicente Marzilio, Diego Prone, Viktor Forslund, Lenny Bergsson and Tucker Allen.

LAST TIME OUT: North Texas finished tied for second at a rain-shortened All-American Intercollegiate last week, when the Mean Green were led by Marzilio, who finished tied for eighth after shooting even-par through the first two rounds.
STRACKE SAYS: "This is one of my favorite venues of the year," UNT head coach Brad Stracke said. "It's a well-designed golf course and a very competitive field. We're looking forward to competing."

INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR: The Mean Green feature six international players this year. Lenny Bergsson (Iceland), Viktor Forslund (Sweden), Nikhil Gopal (South Africa), Zak Karkaletsos (Spain), Diego Prone (Argentina) and Vicente Marzilio (Argentina) round out the international players.

NEW FACILITY: The Mean Green golf programs are thrilled to break in their brand new Bruzzy's UNT Golf Practice Facility, the new $3 million on-campus facility that features state-of-the-art technology, such as TrackMan, swing catalysts, indoor hitting bays, a short-game area and a PuttView indoor putting green.
