Tennis Faces Louisiana Tech in First Round

MURFEESBORO – UNT Tennis will be facing Louisiana Tech in the first round of the conference tournament. The match will take place at the Adams Tennis Center beginning at 10 a.m. CT. The winner will take on second seeded FIU on Friday also at 10 a.m. CT.
The Mean Green (9-11) earned the tenth seed in the tournament while the Bulldogs (18-5) are the seventh seed. UNT hosted the 2021 tournament but fell in the first round to Florida Atlantic. Louisiana Tech fell to Charlotte in round one while Old Dominion claimed their first Conference USA Women's Tennis Title.
UNT ended the 2022 season 11-9 but 3-3 in conference play. Senior duo Lucie Devier and Maria Ponomareva are 4-4 in doubles play and finished the season at No. 89 in ITA rankings. The Mean Green last faced the Bulldogs during the regular 2021 season claiming a 4-0 victory.
The Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship runs from Thursday through Sunday.
