Men's Golf Wraps Up First Tournament

CHOUDRANT, La. - Junior Vicente Marzilio shot an even-par 72 to wrap up play in the final round of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate at Squire Creek Country Club on Tuesday to lead the Mean Green, who finished 11th out of 23 teams at 2-under par for the three-day event.

North Texas shot 283-285-294-862 for the event, and Marzilio tied with junior Tucker Allen at 2-under for the team lead in the tournament and tied for 32nd. Junior newcomer Cody Winkler shot a 1-under for the event and tied for 35th.

Fifth-year senior Lenny Bergsson, who competed as an individual, shot 1-under 71 to move to 5-under par in a tie for 16th on the individual leaderboard.

The Mean Green will return to action Sept. 23-24, at The Tucker in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
