Final Round Canceled in Arkansas For UNT Men

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The UNT men's golf team got in just one hole at The Blessings Collegiate on Wednesday before lightning in the area forced the cancelation of the remainder of the event.
That meant results would be carried over from the end of Tuesday's second round, and finished 10th in the event, while senior Diego Prone finished tied for 23rd after his 5-under 67 on Tuesday.
The Mean Green were one of just five teams in the 10-team field to break par on Tuesday, and Prone's 67 was the low round on the day. Fellow senior Cody Winkler finished tied for 30th at 6-over.
"This was a great experience for us and the program got some great exposure on national television," UNT head coach Luke Calcatera said. "I was really pleased to see how Diego bounced back yesterday with a 67 and had the low round of the day. We're looking forward to a quick turnaround as we head to South Carolina this weekend."
