The UNT men's golf team will begin its spring schedule on Sunday and Monday at The Hayt.

THE EVENT: Sawgrass Country Club will play at 6,966 yards, and will be a par-72 course for the tournament. The two-day event begins Sunday with a shotgun start at 6:45 a.m., and will conclude on Monday with tee times beginning at 6:45 a.m., from Holes 1 and 10.Â

THE FIELD:Â There are 14 teams participating in the tournament, including the country's second-ranked team: No. 17 Alabama, No. 39 Arkansas, Coastal Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, Furman, Jacksonville, Jacksonville State, Louisiana Tech, No. 42 North Florida, Tennessee-Chattanooga, UAB, UCF, UNT and No. 2 Vanderbilt.

REPRESENTING UNT:Â Competing for the Mean Green will be Vicente Marzilio, Diego Prone, Lenny Bergsson, Tucker Allen and Zak Karkaletsos.

INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR: The Mean Green feature eight international players this year. Lenny Bergsson (Iceland), Nikhil Gopal (South Africa), Zak Karkaletsos (Spain), Vicente Marzilio (Argentina), Diego Prone (Argentina), Simon Roessler (Chile), Alvaro Roldos (Spain) and Philippe Thorin (Ecuador) round out the international players.

HOME SWEET HOME: The Mean Green golf programs are thrilled to have the new Bruzzy's UNT Golf Practice Facility, which is a $3 million on-campus facility that features state-of-the-art technology, such as TrackMan, swing catalysts, indoor hitting bays, a short-game area and a PuttView indoor putting green.
