Men's Golf Set For All-American Intercollegiate

The UNT men's golf team travels down I-45 to Houston and is back in action at the All-American Intercollegiate.

THE EVENT: The Golf Club of Houston will play at 7,425 yards, and will be a par-72 course for the tournament. The two-day event begins Monday and runs through Tuesday with shotgun starts each day at 8 a.m.

THE FIELD: There are 21 teams participating in the tournament, including six top-50 teams: Abilene Christian, Arkansas State, Charleston Southern, Georgia State, No. 46 Houston, No. 17 Kansas State, Lamar, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, No. 36 Louisville, No. 47 LSU, No. 29 Ole Miss, Rice, Sam Houston, Southern Mississippi, Texas State, No. 14 Tennessee, ULM, UNT, UTRGV and UTSA.

REPRESENTING UNT: Competing for the Mean Green will be Vicente Marzilio, Tucker Allen, Diego Prone, Cody Winkler and Alvaro Roldos. Lenny Bergsson will compete in the separate Individuals Tournament at the Member Course nearby.

INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR: The Mean Green feature eight international players this year. Lenny Bergsson (Iceland), Nikhil Gopal (South Africa), Zak Karkaletsos (Spain), Vicente Marzilio (Argentina), Diego Prone (Argentina), Simon Roessler (Chile), Alvaro Roldos (Spain) and Philippe Thorin (Ecuador) round out the international players.

UP NEXT: North Texas will return to competition on April 8-9, at the Aggie Invitational in Bryan, Texas.

HOME SWEET HOME: The Mean Green golf programs are thrilled to have the new Bruzzy's UNT Golf Practice Facility, which is a $3 million on-campus facility that features state-of-the-art technology, such as TrackMan, swing catalysts, indoor hitting bays, a short-game area and a PuttView indoor putting green.
