BRYAN, Texas - The UNT men's golf team wrapped up play at the Aggie Invitational on Tuesday and finished with a 291-291-292 to card a 10-over par and an eighth-place finish.
The Mean Green were led by junior Vicente Marzilio, who finished at 2-under par after a final-round 70 to put him in a tie for 12th place - his fifth top-25 finish this season -Â while junior Tucker Allen finished at 3-over par to tie for 30th place. Freshman Alvaro Roldos, who was competing as an individual, finished tied for 22nd at 1-over par.
"We had some big numbers the first round, but the guys did a good job battling through the adversity to turn it around and shoot a solid score," UNT head coach Brad Stracke said. "They have been getting better every week this year and this week was no different. I think we got better throughout the week and the guys did a good job fighting back."Â
UNT now has one final tuneup this weekend at the El Macero Classic in Davis, California, before the Conference USA Championship, which will run from April 24-28, in Texarkana.
