
Softball Hosts Tulsa for Conference Clash

DENTON, Texas – UNT softball meets Tulsa for an American Athletic Conference series at Lovelace Stadium beginning on Friday at 6 p.m. The three-game set will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The Mean Green (15-12, 5-1) are tied atop The American standings after it opened league play with five wins, the best start in program history. UNT clinched its series at UTSA with two wins on Friday before it dropped the finale on Sunday.
The Golden Hurricane (19-8, 5-1) defeated No. 4 Oklahoma State 3-0 at home on Wednesday to claim its highest-ranked win since 2009. Tulsa has won eight of its past nine games with its only loss against AAC rival South Florida on March 15. Entering Friday, UNT is tied for first place in the conference with Tulsa, Florida Atlantic and Charlotte.
The two teams last met on Feb. 11, 2022, when head coach Rodney DeLong led his team to a 6-3 win. Kalei Christensen set her career high of two home runs in the game while Kailey Gamble tallied a three-run home run that scored Cierra Simon and Molly Rainey.
UNT holds a 4-3 edge over Tulsa at Lovelace Stadium but trails the all-time series 6-9.
