Men's Golf Ready For First AAC Championship Tourney

The Mean Green will head to the Sunshine State for the program's first conference tournament as a member of The American, and they'll do so with positive momentum after picking up a victory earlier this week at the North Texas Intercollegiate - the program's first win since 2018 and the first of the Luke Calcatera era.
THE EVENT: Pelican Golf Club will play at 6,881 yards, and will be a par-70 course for the tournament. The three-day event begins Friday and concludes Sunday with 18 holes per day. Sunday's final round will be broadcast on ESPN+.

THE FIELD: There are 12 teams participating in the tournament: Charlotte, East Carolina, FAU, Memphis, Rice, No. 42 SMU, No. 48 South Florida, Temple, UAB, UNT, UTSA and Wichita State.

REPRESENTING UNT:Â Competing for the Mean Green will be Tucker Allen, Cody Winkler, Dawson Meek, Harry Lord and Alvaro Roldos. Diego Prone will go as an alternate and can be subbed in for any player prior to the second and/or third round.

INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR: The Mean Green feature seven international players this year. Rafael Estrada (Mexico), Nikhil Gopal (South Africa), Harry Lord (England), Diego Prone (Argentina), Simon Roessler (Chile), Alvaro Roldos (Spain) and Philippe Thorin (Ecuador) round out the international players. Meanwhile, four players (Tucker Allen, Preston Holmes, Key Coker and Cody Winkler) are native Texans.

HOME SWEET HOME: The Mean Green golf programs are thrilled to have the Bruzzy's UNT Golf Practice Facility, which is a $3 million on-campus facility that features state-of-the-art technology, such as TrackMan, swing catalysts, indoor hitting bays, a short-game area and a PuttView indoor putting green.
