Softball Set for AAC Championship

WICHITA, Kan. – UNT softball opens the American Athletic Conference Championship versus Memphis on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ from Wilkins Stadium.
The Mean Green (30-23, 17-10) closed its regular season on Sunday and earned the No. 3 seed for the single-elimination tournament. North Texas will face No. 10 Memphis (6-43, 1-26) in its first-round game with the winner playing either No. 6 UAB or No. 7 East Carolina on Thursday at noon.
UNT collected a three-game road sweep of the Tigers on April 21 with the bullpen allowing one run and seven hits over the series. North Texas improved to 6-1 in the all-time series record.
Head coach Rodney DeLong has led his team to consecutive conference finals appearances, both in Conference USA, over the past two seasons. The Mean Green own a 6-7 record in first round games with DeLong winning his lone opening day contest over Middle Tennessee at the CUSA Championship on May 10, 2023.
