MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Mean Green softball dropped the series finale 9-7 to Memphis at Tigers Softball Complex on Sunday afternoon.

Entering the day in a three-way tie for first place in the American Conference, North Texas (26-21, 14-7) fell to third place and are one game behind South Florida and Wichita State who remain gridlocked at the top of the league at 15-6.

UNT collected 15 hits against the Tigers (17-31, 5-16), its highest hit total in a loss since it tallied 19 hits in a 10-inning marathon defeat to South Florida at Lovelace Stadium on April 27, 2025.

Blayze McNemar and Elizabeth Moffitt led the offense with three hits each while Madison Conley, Eva Daniels and Ariah Mitchell each posted two apiece. Moffitt added a game high four RBI while Mitchell scored two runs.

The Mean Green offense stranded at least one runner on base in every inning for a total of 13 in the game while the defense committed a season-high mark of three errors which resulted in four unearned runs, all in the sixth inning.

UNT opens a four-game homestand at Lovelace Stadium beginning Wednesday at 6 p.m. against Tarleton State. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ while fans can purchase tickets HERE.
