STEPHENVILLE, Texas – UNT softball lost 6-1 to Tarleton State on Wednesday night at Tarleton Softball Complex.
The Mean Green (22-18) were unable to reach base against the Texans (25-17) until the third inning as freshman Sienna Mayer broke up a perfect game with a single into center field.
Mayer was a bright spot for North Texas as she led the team with two hits while she reached base in all three plate appearances after a hit-by-pitch in the seventh.
Elizabeth Moffitt provided the lone score for the Mean Green with a solo home run to deep left field in the sixth inning for her 10th of the year.
Anneca Anderson (ND) finished with four strikeouts over five innings in relief, her highest strikeout total since she tallied four against Abilene Christian on Feb. 28, after starter Britney Lewinski (L, 11-9) was lifted after 10 batters.
