Softball Welcomes ACU Tuesday

DENTON, Texas – UNT softball will meet Abilene Christian on Tuesday at 6 p.m. from Lovelace Stadium. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Mean Green (12-11, 3-0) claimed a sweep in its first American Athletic Conference series over East Carolina on Sunday. Mikayla Smith was named to The American Honor Roll after she connected with her first career grand slam in Sunday's 7-4 victory against the Pirates.
ACU (8-12, 0-0) will enter the midweek contest after it collected a 5-2 win at UTSA on March 5.
North Texas jumped 35 spots (from No. 89 to No. 54) in Monday's RPI rankings and made the 12th-largest leap in Division I. Head coach Rodney DeLong's squad has faced the 17th toughest strength of schedule in the nation this season.
UNT holds an 8-3 series advantage over ACU, including a six-game winning streak. During the DeLong era, North Texas boasts a 6-1 mark against the Wildcats.
