DENTON, Texas – UNT softball hosts No. 7 Oklahoma State at Lovelace Stadium on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The Mean Green (21-13) lead the American Athletic Conference after it captured a series win at South Florida on Saturday. UNT won its final game of the series 2-0 in eight innings after Mackenzie Childers spun her third extra-inning, complete game of the season.
The Cowgirls (29-6) toppled No. 2 Texas in two of three conference games at home and recorded shutouts in both wins. Lexi Kilfoyl secured Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors for her pair of complete game shutouts against the Longhorns.
UNT senior Kailey Gamble was awarded a spot on the five-player American Honor Roll after her game-winning, two-RBI double in the eighth inning at South Florida on Saturday.
Wednesday's game will mark the 30th meeting between the two programs and first since UNT captured an upset win over then-No. 7 OSU on May 3, 2023, at Lovelace Stadium. Last year's victory marked its highest-ranked home win in program history and first over a top-10 opponent since Feb. 29, 2020.
