Softball Travels to Lion Classic

COMMERCE, Texas – Mean Green softball ventures to the Lion Classic for a six-game weekend beginning Friday at 12:30 p.m. versus St. Thomas (MN) before meeting hosts East Texas A&M at 5:30 p.m. at the John Cain Family Softball Complex.
Friday's game versus the Lions will be broadcast on ESPN+ while the remainder of the five-team tournament will be streamed on the East Texas A&M Athletics website.
The Mean Green (3-8) defeated East Texas A&M (5-6) in its home opener at Lovelace Stadium on Wednesday night as junior Anneca Anderson recorded her seventh career complete game shutout and added a personal-best eight strikeouts.
North Texas will face East Texas A&M at 5:30 p.m. Friday and at 6 p.m. Saturday with contests against SIUE (2-8) on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m. The Mean Green will wrap up the weekend against Southern (4-4) on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
UNT have never met St. Thomas (MN) or SIUE in modern program history while it holds a 5-0 edge over East Texas A&M and 4-0 record over Southern, including a record-breaking 24-7 win over the Lady Jaguars in its last meeting on March 6, 2022.
