Softball Visits UTEP for C-USA Series

EL PASO, Texas – UNT softball travels for its final regular season Conference USA series at UTEP beginning on Thursday at 7 p.m. CT at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex. All games will be streamed on CUSA.tv.
Head coach Rodney DeLong recorded his 150th career victory with the Mean Green with a 4-2 win over Tarleton on Tuesday at Lovelace Stadium. He moved closer to the all-time program mark of 161 victories set by former UNT and current UTEP head coach T.J. Hubbard (2014-18).
North Texas (21-16, 6-6) holds a 10-game winning streak against the Miners (10-19, 2-7), which dates back to DeLong's first season in 2019. The Mean Green leads the series with a 21-7 all-time mark.
Led by McKenzie Wagoner and Ashley Peters, the North Texas pitching staff leads the conference with 202 strikeouts and has walked 81 batters. The group has recorded a collective 2.49 strikeout-to-walk rate this season which also leads the league.
UNT is currently ranked second in C-USA with 39 home runs and 27th in the nation. The team is led by Kailey Gamble with a team-high mark of 13 long balls and is three short of her single-season career high.
