Softball Posts Season-High Run Totals Over ACU, Detroit Mercy

UNT offense scores 34 runs in Saturday sweep at Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic
UNT (10-11) recorded 16 runs in game one against ACU (2-17) which marked the fifth-most in program history before it rewrote the record book as it tied for the second-highest mark in with 18 runs against Detroit Mercy (3-10) in its second contest.
In game one, North Texas tallied its highest home run total of the season with four as Madison Conley posted her career high with two while Riley McNemar hit her first of the season and Laila Nobles hit her second in as many days.
Kayleigh Smith (W, 1-2) registered her first win of the season in relief against the Wildcats as she spun 3 2/3 innings with one strikeout and allowed one run on three hits and no walks.
Taylor Platt set career highs with three hits and two runs scored versus ACU as she also scored twice in game two and stole a base in each game.
In game two, Elizabeth Moffitt dropped her sixth home run of the season while Bradi Harman contributed her second of the campaign. Both finished with three RBI against the Titans.
Starting pitcher Britney Lewinski (W, 5-4) notched the victory as she allowed no runs on one hit and two walks over four innings pitched. She added five strikeouts while Smith pitched the final inning of the run-rule victory.
The Mean Green will close the weekend against No. 2 Texas Tech (20-1) at 1:30 p.m. Sunday on ESPN+ from Rocky Johnson Field.
